2019: Moseley Modern School Building Dedication

Moseley Modern School Building - Dedication

Saturday 29th June 2019

In 2015 Moseley School set aside part of the school campus as a memorial garden where school staff, association members and close friends of Moseley School can be commemorated.

Following the Garden of Remembrance dedication in 2015, each summer we plan to holding an annual Garden Party as an opportunity to meet up with former school friends and staff and to celebrate the lives of former Moseleians, both staff and pupils who are no longer with us. All Moseleians and their families are invited together with a number of specially invited guests.

In a change from our regular Memorial Garden Party this years event will commemorate Moseley Modern School. Over the last couple of years, the Association has planted two rows of trees to mark the site of the former Moseley Modern School which was demolished in 2013. These have now become established and will form a backdrop to the lower playground, which was part of the old playground to MMS. The trees are being cared for by your gardening team.

We are now ready to formally dedicate the trees, and this will take place at 2pm on Saturday 29th June. Former teachers at MMS, Bob Checkett, Betty Gillespie and Rick Coleman have been invited to unveil a plaque and we hope that as many former Moseley Modern students will come along that afternoon and join in the ceremony. If you wish to attend please email us using the contact form below. The event will be followed by refreshments and an opportunity to share memories and catch up with old friends.
